Response (http)
HTTP/1.1 201 Created
Location: /api/users/42
Content-Type: application/json
{"id":42}A 201 Created response should ideally identify the new resource with a Location header. The response body may contain the created representation.
Use 202 Accepted instead when the work has been queued but is not complete yet.
Common mistakes
- Returning 201 before the resource actually exists.
- Omitting Location when the new resource has a stable URL.
